Bobby Matthew Martin
Into the dawn of Saturday, June 17th, 2023, the death angel met our beloved brother, Bobby Matthew Martin at his doorway.
Bobby was born December 17th, 1954, to the proud parents, Rev. Chester and Evelyn Whitney Martin. Bobby professed his hope in Christ at an early age at Owens Chapel Baptist Church. After attending the Caverna School System, he left and joined the United States Marine Corp, where he was stationed in San Francisco, the Philippines, Okinawa, Japan. By the grace of God, he later returned home to Cave City.
In his early years he worked at Pizza Hut and he was a carrier at Bolin’s Fruit Market. Bobby was a hard worker and loved working along side of his dad. He loved mowing yards and doing masonry work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Chester and Evelyn Martin, Sister, Mattie A. Martin, Brothers, Terry Lee and Larry Martin, & wife Helen A. Martin.
He leaves to mourn his passing his sisters, Virginia M. Martin of Horse Cave, Priscilla J. Bethel and Lenita Carol Martin of Cave City, 2 aunts, Geneva Martin and Crystal Vaughn of Cave City, a host of nieces & nephews, cousins, friends and “A special friend”, Floyd Gossett.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Owens Chapel Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. E.A. Duke officiating. Burial will follow in the Owens Chapel Church Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. until the time of service at the church.
