Demarian was called home in the early hours of Sunday, April 7, 2024. Demarian Williams, son of Dorian Whalen, and Jimmy L. Williams was born on August 11, 1984, in Berkeley, California. Demarian is preceded in death by One Grandparent Luevida Whalen, one Aunt Kim Yvonne Whalen.
Demarian participated in the nationally recognized program for Mathematics, Engineering, Science, Achievement, (MESA), which gained him attention from Dr. Walter B. Massey, then Provost for Morehouse College, as well as Elaine Corral, former KTVU anchor. Demarian's consistent Academic Achievement Test scores remained amongst the highest for Moraga, Contra Costa County School District, where he attended grades one through seven. Demarian adapted
acculturation, assimilation, as he faced microaggression, within that academic environment at such an early age.
Dr. Massey remained in touch with the bright futured middle schooler, gifting him with Morehouse paraphernalia, inspirational postcards for years. Elaine
Corral covered Community events) where Demarian served as a guest speaker and recited the poem, "I'm Determined To Be Somebody, Some Day".
Demarian lived his entire life in Northern California's San Francisco Bay Area and graduated from Berkeley High School.
Demarian loved to barbecue, spend time at the beach, library, and parks.
He organized and planned video chats, with his cousins, he was planning a Mother's Day dinner at the Pierre Pierre restaurant in Oakland, as well as a June, Family vacation to Kentucky, before his oldest daughter left for college this fall.
Demarian is survived by daughters, Kamaria (18), Kamaya (16), Kaliyah (14) and son Komani Williams (2); one sibling, brother Emerson P. Robinson, nephew Pierre Robinson, Grandfather's Richard D. Whalen, and Emerson Robinson, Sr. and a hosted of Uncle(s): John Bridgewater, Michael, Byron, Mark Whalen, Aaron, Aunts: Martina, Celeste Robinson, and a host of cousins, of extended
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Percell and Sons Funeral Home 120 Haycraft Street Elizabethtown, KY. with Rev. Tyrone Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, April 20, 2024, at Percell and Sons Funeral Home.
